Ravens 6 vs 1 The Bay Horse
Ravens began this game with a two game unbeaten run to protect, and the game began at a frantic pace thanks to some quick thinking in the "Engine room" of midfield. Quickly springing from defence to attack with some clever through balls. Unfortunately the newly formed partnership of Alex Popovic and Matt Hennessy could not convert any of these fabulous chances to give Ravens a well deserved lead. This statement was torn to shreds when Ravens finally took the lead through another good through ball by Rob Bentham and a good follow up by Matt Hennessy after another unconvincing finish. Ravens were then on top and seemed to be cruising until the Bay Horse trotted through and scored their first opportunity. Ravens felt like the flake from their ice cream had just been snatched. It stayed 1-1 until half time. Ravens then came out for the second half with the bit between their teeth, and deservedly took through the lead via Matt Hennessy, as he twisted and turned like a dolphin jumping through hoops, and tucked the ball into the bottom corner. Ravens then added to their lead when yet another clever ball from Rob Bentham found Matt Hennessy who headed past the goaltender into the corner to complete his hattrick. Ravens then scored another when Matt Hennessy picked the ball up on the wing and put in a teasing cross for Ross Evans to gobble up like a pidgeon on a breadcrumb. At this stage Ravens were cruising and the downpour showed no sign of stopping there when Matt Hennessy picked a bouncing ball up outside the box, he then dangled the bait to two defenders who fell for it twice in quick succession before firing a left footed half volley into the roof of the net from 18 yards. Ross Evans then added insult to injury when he fired an unstoppable header past the goalkeeper from a good 12 yards.

This was a very convincing display as Ravens carry on their 3 game winning streak.

Player Ratings

Grant Sadler-8- Could have done nothing to prevent the goal, kicking was delightful and so was his shot stopping.
Agron-6- Covered at centre back in the absence of 2 centre backs who have gone AWOL after International duty with Congo. Gave his all and for that i am eternally grateful.
Rob Bentham-8- Good defensively and offensively. Solid in the air, liquid on the deck. Fantastic display
Omni "Studs up"-7- Did his usual crunching tackles that have made this boy a superstar. Covered at centre back like a true pro.
Tim Brown-6- Playing as a right back for the first time, kept going and went close with his head.
Olivier Patterson-9- The best player on the pitch by a mile, switched the ball well, stuck his foot in when required and carried the ball long distances. Man of the match.
Ross Evans-8- Some good through balls and 2 goals, good defensive work and always a threat.
Rob Olding-7- Subbed after 30 mins through injury, put in some lucrative crosses.
Kyle Moss-7- Pace to burn, some good cross field balls, went close near the end.
Matt Hennessy-8- Scored 4 and set up 1, so many chances he could have had a hattrick, some good runs.
Alex Popovic-7- Some good running and a danger throughout, nice link up play.
Jamie Hawthorne-6- Set up 1 and troubled with his pace.
Kev Brooks-7- Solid at the back, marshalled a very good line to prevent easy through balls.
